Viva Pinata Beta Compositions

Here are some Viva Pinata Romance Dance BETA 's. These were pieces that had to change as the legal people thought that they were too close to already existing pieces of music. The whole point of these pieces was to TRY and get close to already existing tracks, so it was a bit of a tight rope to walk! For each tune I have included the Beta and piece that made it into the final game. I will leave you to judge for yourself!! All these pieces were mixed and mastered by the excellent David Clynick. All instruments were played by me, apart from the drums which I programmed and the sax.

Pigeon BETA I was asked to make this one sound like an 80's pop act, with some kind of reference to camera's, as the pigeons use camera's in their romance dance.
Pigeon Final As you can hear, I altered it to a more general 80's pop style.
Hedgehog BETA My guide for this one was 70's hippy! The intro of the piece uses a classic sound that's heard in many 70's tracks. The instruments are Melotron Flutes, with Piano.
Hedgehog Final Despite the actual chord sequence of the original, not actually being like any specific track, I was asked to change it to this version, just in case!
Bat BETA I was asked to emulate 80's dance pop this time. The "powers that be" thought this was too close to Cyndi Lauper's "Girls just want to have fun". Bizarrely enough, that track hadn't crossed my mind, just goes to show!
Bat Final I basically just went in and changed the chord sequence to something more generic.
Parrot BETA I was asked for a 90's dance track here, and came up with this little ditty...... I'll say no more!
Parrot Final As you can hear, I removed the piano, and played some guitar instead.
Swan/Pig BETA I don't think I neeed to say too much about this one, I'm sure you'll get it? The sax is played by the one and only Dave Wise!
Swan/Pig Final Sadly I had to remove Dave, and inserted myself doing my best Steve Vai impersonation!
